aem+e85+35r+11:1 piston = awsome
i finally got what i want out of a 4g63t.
533hp and 385tq @ 20psi on E85.
-2.0l
-wiseco 11:1 pistons
-eagle rods
-clevite bearings
-self ported and polished head and machined by classic machine shop
-machined by classic machine shop in cartersville and self assembled
-crower stage 3 cams
-1mm oversized intake and exhaust valves from chinabay
-aem and self tuned but definitely can benefit from better tune by an experienced tuner
-forrester intake (runner might be too short and big which could hurt torque)
-pte 1000cc injector
-single walbro fuel pump (wimpy. ran out of fuel pressure at 7500rpm)
-an-6 fuel line (might be too wimpy)
-chinabay 38mm wastegate
-gt35r (not hta)
-self built equal length ram horn turbo manifold
-3" exhaust
-chinabay 12 x 32 x 3" intercooler and piping kit
-chinabay tial knock off bov
-top secret blue printing.
e85=wow. i have to say that E85 is the bomb. there is no need for c16 for me any more. i got my for 2.20/gallon. i believer c16 is 9 bux now. i hope more people will start asking for it so we can have more pump around town. engine temperature never went over 175 degree on the dyno with a small fan in front of the car. i use to get 200+ degree after a pull. the fuel burn super clean. i pulled my spark plugs and they looks super clean with no carbon build up. i did not get a hint of knock voltage with this fuel. the draw back is it takes alittle more to make the same power as gasoline.
power was still going up but i had to stop at 7500rpm because fuel pressure was dropping. i was hoping for 550hp and 450 torque at 20psi. i wanted to turn the motor to 9000rpm and maybe even 10000rpm but it was leaning after 7500. i think i might be able to meet my goal with a little more tuning but i call it quit because it was getting too late.
i was not able to use my stroker kit/hta substitute aka 75 shot of nitrous because of the fuel pressure drop. i will be looking for a higher volume fuel setup for later. maybe a borsch 044 with a -8 feed line will be sufficient. in the meantime, i am pretty happy with the result. hopefully, it is is enough and i get some decent traction for a 10sec past at import showdown.
i will try to post a dyno sheet as soon as i get a picture of it.

Why not drop a second Walboro in their and be done with it?
Great to see the power on only 20psi though.
Hopefully I will be seeing similar numbers as my tuning gets finished. What
was your injector duty cycle?

Nice numbers. I would think the high compression ratio would eliminate most of the need for spray to get the turbo spooling.

that is a misconception from what i read.
wookie. around 7500rpm, the duty cycle is 100%. if i want to run more boost, i think i will have to go with bigger injector too.
i am looking to run a single bosch 044. i just want to be able to make 600hp and rev to 10000rpm to have a better power band.
sam. unless i want to go deaf early, i don't think i will drive it on a regular basis. it does have a current tag and insurance.

Does a bear poop in the woods?
I know two cars nearly identical; except one running higher compression pistons, on the same model turbo and the one with the higher compression boosts nearly twice as fast as the one without.
I wouldn't rev that high without dual valve springs......
Top secret blue printing..... I like that.

i see you caught that humor. i do have certain amount of clearance specs between parts that i like to use. plus there are some tricks that i like to use to help keep the motor together and turn smoothly.
i am going bee hive springs before i look at going 10k rpm. rev limiter is set to 8000rpm right now. with another pump, i will set it to 9000rpm until the upgraded bee hive springs.

Congrats Thoai! I think you've got me beat for a good while. I won't be pushing my car to those power levels anytime soon.

here are the pics of the dyno result. after looking at it, i see i really need to clean up the low end to get better power there. i may even play with cam gears a little to move the power back down low.

That's a nice flat torque curve there for a DSM. Great numbers if they had more E85 pumps on this end of town I'd def be down for E85.

This is great! I love to read success stories. Congrats Thoai!
E85 is looking more & more intriguing. Who cares if the high compression helps spool up. Add the nitrous anyway...I guarantee it wil help more
Definitely need to do something about fuel first. Injectors and another pump.
Good job. What class you going to run in IS?

Leave the Walboro in and put a Bosch 044 in-line with it. You'll have enough fuel to do whatever you want. I would try that first before putting in larger injectors. I made was able to make almost 600 whp with smaller injectors than what you are currently using.
If you ever need any AEM help let me know.
Nice numbers, BTW.
